Conquer Your Critical Inner Voice An Adjunct to Clinical Practice
$15.00
Product Description
We often hear the expression, “listen to your inner voice” as a positive affirmation. However, every individual is divided and has two ways of regarding themselves. We all possess a life-affirming “voice” that represents our real self (our true wants, desires and goals) and a critical, coaxing and destructive inner voice that can sabotage, diminish, or undermine us. Psychologist and author Dr. Robert Firestone often refers to this internal enemy as an “anti-self” or “critical inner voice.” Learning to deal effectively with the “critical inner voice” is central to all areas of life: personal development, healthy relationships, self-esteem, and career success.
This CE Webinar provides participants with an introduction to Voice Therapy, a technique that can enhance the therapist’s ability to achieve positive treatment outcomes for their clients. Participants will discover ways to help their clients identify destructive thoughts or “voices” that cause debilitating feelings of guilt and shame and interfere with all areas of life. They will learn how Voice Therapy techniques can be used to challenge and overcome these destructive inner thoughts and to more effectively cope with anxiety, depression, personal relationships, career, and personal aspirations. Participants can begin to develop new strategies to help their patients reassess their goals, understand and tolerate the anxiety of change, and identify achievable steps for positive and meaningful change in their lives.
Learning Objectives:
- Apply techniques to identify and challenge destructive thinking in clients.
- Identify and help clients address core beliefs that limit behavior change.
- Describe strategies to help clients tolerate anxiety associated in breaking destructive patterns.
